Spring is in full bloom, and with it will come a visible renewal to the outside of several buildings that have been a part of the landscape of Downtown Titusville for generations.
Recipients have been selected from among a large field of applications for Round Eight of the Greater Titusville Development Foundation’s Downtown Titusville Façade Improvement Grants.
This Façade Project provides a dollar-for-dollar match up to $5,000 to businesses investing in downtown building facade improvements.  The goal is to improve the appearance of downtown Titusville, creating a pleasant atmosphere that embraces the historical character of the Queen City.
Buildings that will benefit from façade improvement grants in Round Eight are:
142 & 144 W. Spring Street. The entire bottom floor of the Spring Street side of the iconic Algrunix building will receive repairs to the wood, windows, brick and topped with a brand new coat of paint.
108 and 110 S. Washington Street.  Home of the new Bridge Studios, where their mission is connecting people to purpose through music will complete their fresh new store front with signage.
114 S. Franklin Street.  Home to Kriner Real Estate, formerly Cochran Real Estate will be painting the building and installing new signage and a fresh new awning.
315 S. Franklin Street.  The Titusville Iron Works will be installing new glass garage doors on the left side of the façade to match the right side of the building that has already been renovated.
Let’s talk about Diamond Street!
116 Diamond Street.  Missy’s Arcade will see a brand new paint scheme along with window restoration.
122 Diamond Street.  Formerly Boonies Sports Bar has been rebranded and feature signage with the new name, Marlin’s Food and Spirits.  As well as removal of the awning frame and a new paint scheme.  Marlin’s Central Ave. façade will also receive cleaning to the brick and new signage.
The Diamond Street facades were carefully designed by a historical preservationist so that the color scheme of the American Legion, Marlin’s and Missy’s would all complement one another by drawing in the gold accent color.  Stay tuned this summer to see the amazing results!!
In all, $23,357 in grants will result in 9 facades getting $75,000 of improvements to our downtown this summer.
Since the inception of the Downtown Titusville Façade Improvement Project in August of 2016, the Greater Titusville Development Foundation has awarded $180,495 in grants which led to $637,000 in improvements to our downtown!  The money that has been granted has all come from private donations.  We appreciate the continued donations so we can see the money go back to our community.
Anyone who owns or leases commercial property in the downtown Titusville area is eligible to apply for a GTDF Downtown Titusville Façade Improvement Project grant. Business owners who lease their storefront may apply with the written approval of the building owner.
For more information, or make a donation, contact GTDF staff at 814-827-4756 or visit www.titusvillefoundation.org.
